"Oceania
(the centre of
the world is where I am)" A series of photos, silkscreen printed texts
and
a video work. Memory, reality and illusion. A narrative about the
relation
between a woman and the sea. A play with the myths of sea and the
romantic idea
of the adventurous voyage. I was interested in the sea as a
representation of
our dreams. The longing out and the waiting. To stay or to leave.
"In my
eyes": A
little girl dancing in the middle of a crowded square. A shining
solitaire
among the passing people. Unconscious of everything but herself.
"A Lullaby":
A young girl sleeps
deeply in the back of a car. On the radio the latest news from the war
keeps
repeating.
These two
video works were sort of a reaction to what
happened in world. Filtered through my own and personal feeling of
sadness and
powerlessness. And the feeling of insecurity penetrating into our
everyday
life.
« Oceania (le
centre
du monde se trouve où je suis) ». Une série de
photos, de texte imprimé
sur des écrans de soie et un travail vidéo.
Mémoire,
réalité et illusion.
Une narration à propos de la relation entre une femme et la mer.
Un jeu avec
les mythes de la mer et l’idée romantique d’un voyage
aventureux. J’étais
intéressée par la mer et la représentation de nos
rêves. Le désir et l’attente.
Rester ou partir.
Une petite fille danse au milieu
d’un square plein de monde. Un diamant solitaire parmi les passants.
Inconsciente
de tout le reste excepté d’elle-même. - Une jeune fille
dort profondément à
l’arrière d’une voiture. A la radio, les dernières
nouvelles de la guerre sont
répétées indéfiniment.
Les deux travaux vidéo
« In
my eyes » et « A Lullaby »
sont une sorte de réaction
à ce qui se passe dans le monde, filtrée à travers
mes propres sentiments de
tristesse et d’impuissance.
